165. Silver Second Place Winner's Medal in Curling. Silver, 57x87mm,
by Poellath. Color enameled logo affixed in laurel wreath, panel
with 5-line German legend below. "Eiswettschiessen der/IV.
Olympischen Winterspiele / 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen/National
Mannschaftskampf Herren 2. Platz" ("Curling of the /
IV Olympic Winter Games / 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen / National
Team Competition / Men 2. Place", transl. from German). Curling
was a demonstration event in 1936. It took until Nagano 1998 to
make Curling an Olympic sport. Toned VF-EF, sm. enamel chip, sm.

President Dr. Karl Ritter von Halt. Bronze figure, 32cm (12.6")
tall, on marble base, 10x10cm (3.9"x3.9"). Victorious
athlete holding laurel wreath in out-stretched hand. Gilt silver
plaque affixed on front with color rings over 4-line German legend
with gilt swastika in each corner: "Die Teilnehmer der Deutschen
Mannschaft/bei den Olympischen Winterspielen 1936 / au den Praesidenten
des Organisations-Komites / Dr. Karl Ritter von Halt" (transl.
"The members of the German Team / at the Olympic Winter Games
