NAGANO,
18th OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES, 1998

c644. Official Torch. Aluminum, partially gilt, 55cm (21.7") long, weight 1.5kg (3.3 pounds). Designed after ancient Japanese torches called Taimatsu. It shows the Nagano emblem and sports pictograms. A brightly colored cord wrapped around the lower part forms the grip. Fueled with clean burning propane, it burnt for about 20 minutes. The torch relay in Japan took part from January 6 until February 7, when the Olympic fire was lit during the opening ceremony. EF, lt. wear. Rare and beautiful torch. ($7,500)

645. Participation Medal. AE, 60mm. Nagano logo over legend. Rev. Wooded mountainside. EF, in box with gilt logo. ($375)

646. Set of 17 American Team Pins. In wooden case, under glass. Each athlete and some officials received a set from the U.S.O.C. They were never available to the public. New. ($375)

c647. Nizuhiki No. 8 from the Organizing Committee. Pine, bamboo grass and ume (Japanese plum) flower with gold and silver thread woven into the ring. 60x140mm (2.4"x5.5"). Representation of good fortune and obedience. In presentation box, soiled on top, with descriptive brochure. ($150)

648. Commemorative Snowlets Mascots Porcelain Plate. Yamaha porcelain, 20cm (7.9"). Four snowlet mascots in color. EF. ($100)

649. Group of 33 Different Daily Programs. Included are Opening Ceremony, Men's Single Luge Final (G. Hackl, gold), K 120 Team Ski Jump (Funoka/Harada, Japan gold), Women's Hockey Finals (USA gold), all sessions of Freestyle Skiing, etc. All EF. (33 pcs.) ($400)
